Heritage ProjectsListed Buildings and ConservationBlakesley Hall
In 30 years of local government planning in England only a small number of projects like Blakesley Hall have ever seen the light of day. Plans for this new Northamptonshire country manor house, designed by the Roger Coy Partnership, received final approval after years of official procedure in order to meet the stringent requirements of the elusive Planning Policy Guidance 7. During the consultation period an independent professional reviewer, Oxford Architects, stated: "The proposed scheme to recreate Blakesley Hall in a parkland setting is of exceptional quality both in architectural and landscape terms and meets the exception principles set out in PPG7. The scheme has been carefully researched and executed."
Roger Coy said: "This is an exciting project and quite unique. In the design we have tried to pick up the character of the village of Blakesley and to introduce a new charm to the Hall that would not have been there in the original." Guildford, SurreyThis property (pictured right) sits within a managed estate, so any designs have to be passed by both the Council Planners and the Estate Planners. Therefore, the designs had to be in keeping with the other estate properties and, as you can see from the photographs on the right, the Roger Coy Partnership has achieved this. Fields FarmThis is a rare example of a good solid and very attractive barn for which we were asked to produce designs. The height and layout allowed us to utilise the barns to their full extent and, as you can see from the artist's impression below, will provide an excellent conversion.
